                                         Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)


Established in 1969, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) offers over 106 courses across 11 streams at UG, PG and PhD level. Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the university has been recognised with the status of ‘University of Excellence’, along with some of its academic centres that are declared as ‘Centres of Excellence’ by the University Grants Commission (UGC). JNU has granted recognition and accreditation to over 18 defence and research and development institutions. As a public university, it was granted with the ‘Best University Award’ by India's President in 2017. Spread across 1,019 acre of land, JNU comprises of 13 schools, 55 centres and 7 special centres. JNU has a teacher-student ratio of 1:15. It has over 567 teaching staff and around 1,006 non-teaching staffs.
